Chinese horoscope 2016: the Monkey year’s forecast for the Ox. 6

The Yang Fire Monkey year started on the 4th of February for the solar calendar: the 8th of February is for the lunar start. It is therefore the right time to see what the year has in store for your sign of birth, based on the Chinese Zodiac. In this series of 12 articles I will explore with you the forecast and predictions that are based on your birth sign for your 2016 horoscope. This is different from analyzing your complete Bazi.

The Yang Fire Monkey year will be agitated and eventful. For the 12 Signs of Chinese astrology, it is a very different year from 2015 that was the Yin Wood Goat year. While 2015 was all about Earth and Wood Elements, 2016 is a clash between Fire, Metal and Water. These energies represent money opportunities for some and good prospect for single people of some signs. For others, it is all about professional changes and duties and not a very fun year. Let’s see what the situation is sign by sign.

Before reading your predictions, keep in mind that the animal of your year is not the whole picture. Your full chart can balance those influences and in some case reverse them or make them worse. For a start, all of us have 4 animals rather than one: year, month, day and time of birth…and after our 40ies the year is of milder influence. The Ox

For the Oxen this year, I first have good news. The Monkey year shall be easier than the Goat year: what a relief! 2015 was a year of possible disharmony for you, with backstabbing and deceiving situations around. It could be that people took advantage of you, due to your benevolent nature. On a relationship level, and depending of the other aspects of your chart 2015 was probably a bit disappointing. However, some oxen have seen opportunities for money making through hard work, and could even have met someone special but challenging.

In 2016, it is easier on a human level, but it isn’t yet “your” year, Oxen. While there is less direct opposition to your ideas and way of doing things, you don’t necessarily get this year’s Chi and might not know what to do with it. The excited nature of the Monkey is not your cup of tea: you like a clear and straightforward path of action, and the Monkey might rush you into fast thinking and decisions that might make your uncomfortable. The risk of mistake of judgment is lower than during the Goat year, but the Monkey is a learning curve for you. Try to understand the point of view of other people and their way of doing things. You might eventually go back to your own way, but you will at least have learned something. The message of the Monkey year for you is: evolve, at your own page and without head butting.

Love

During the Monkey year, the tendency is less optimal to meet someone new for the Ox. 2015 was a paradox in that area: that year might have brought possible tensions for Oxen living in a couple, but also a possibility to meet someone who was a game changer for you; not an easy relationship, but a fascinating one if that happened. 2016 is definitely quieter. You will socialize, but might not find anyone whom is a good match. It is slightly better for women of the sign, as someone might find you interesting, especially around summer time. It is better to let the situation unfold rather than make a move…If you are in a relationship, it is an easier year than the previous one that brought some tension. Keep communicating well and accept to compromise for the wellbeing of your relation.

Work

In this area, it is better for you to not lead all the battles upfront. If you are a team worker, let others lead and make important decision, especially if your boss is a Rat! Your radar is a bit off this year and so you better play if safe and not fix what is not broken. If you are self-employed, try having a plan for the whole year and do not improvise. Ask experts in their fields for their advice. If you are looking for work, it is a bit tedious but you can find some if you are flexible in your demands and when negotiating. For money matters, the tendency is more to spend it overall but here again it is a matter of planning ahead. There are fewer surprises than in 2015, which is a plus.

Wellbeing

The year is not opposed to your sign anymore and so it is somehow easier. You can focus a bit more on yourself and on your self-improvement. Be mindful of your joins, especially neck and shoulders this year; and if you smoke, it is a good year to stop. Your weight could vary during the year, as you’ll be sensitive to the seasonal influences: it is therefore best to adopt a healthy lifestyle early on and stick to it. Yoga and any discipline that increases flexibility are recommended for the Monkey year, as they will help you to feel your body differently. You have a need for escapism and travelling is a good idea, but here again avoid improvisation and rather plans ahead…
