So here we are for this new month of the Yang Wood Dog, Jia Xu, that starts on the 8th of October; and the Qi Men Dun Jia best directions to use and sector to activate in your home. For the complete explanation on this Chinese oracle and how to use it, I refer you to the first article here:
This month, we have a Fu Yin structure in all sectors. That means that the Heaven and Earth plates are the same in every palace. A palace is a direction or sector, and they are therefore 8 of them: North, Northeast, East, Southeast, South, Southwest, West and Northwest. This Fu Yin structure is of lesser quality, and generally not very supportive. While the South, North, Northeast and Northwest sectors still have a good door, they don’t have an excellent energy. So it is best to not activate a formation for the whole month, but rather sparingly.
With the flying stars, the 5 yellow Star is this month in North so we are going to discard it as well, to not activate it by mistake. This means that if possible, you should avoid travelling along the North/South axis this month, or at least choose a good day for you to do so. The 8 Star is in Southeast, but it is not a good Qi Men Dun Jia sector, so let’s skip it as well.
We are therefore trying to find a good day this month to activate a whole sector or take a day trip, that will preferably tap into the Northeast, Northwest or South sector, that are “acceptable” sectors to use for the month.

This Thursday, the 9th of October, the Northeast sector actually has a good formation for the day, that helps both with romance – especially weddings – and money luck. During the day, both the Dragon timeframe, from 7am to 9am, and the Rooster timeframe, from 5pm to 7pm, are excellent to activate to boost your luck. As a reminder, the activation can be done with a small water feature or a fan moving in this area.
If you never had a Feng Shui consultation done, here is how to determine the sectors of your place. Find the center of your house, apartment and business. Go there with a compass. Let’s say we do this in a two bedrooms flat in London; I am standing in the living room that is at the center of the premises. Then I look on the compass that I am holding. The Northeast direction, and therefore sector of this apartment, is what I am looking for. From where I am standing, it is in the kitchen. This is where I will put my fan or water feature.
So the activation is in the Northeast room of your place on Thursday the 9th between 7 am and 9 am. Starts your fan at 7:05 am for example. Then stops it at 9 am. Restarts it for the second activation shortly after 5:00 pm and stops it again at 7pm. This is it; you are done! You can use both timeframes or just one if more convenient.
Alternatively you can also take a trip in that direction. I refer you to the method explains in my first article here. So leave your house between 7:00 and 7:30 am ideally. Arrive at your location before 9:00 am. Stay there, then heads back to your place starting your trip between 10 am and 11 am – 10:30 am is perfect; this way you will also benefit from a good formation that is between 9am and 11 am to travel back using the Southwest direction.
What if you cannot use this Thursday at all or read this article too late? Fear not, I am giving you another day to use later on this month. I am nice like that!
Another good day is Wednesday the 22nd of October, much later in the month. On that day we are going to activate the Southeast sector. Yes, it is not one of the “acceptable” sectors for this month; however, on that day there is in this area a special formation called Bird falls into the nest, that is extremely good for overall luck and therefore should not be missed. Moreover, this day harmoniously combines with the Dog month (Yang Fire Tiger day with Yang Wood Dog month). The right time to activate is between 5pm and 7pm. It you choose to travel, leave your place after 5pm, travel Southeast of your place (meaning the destination must be in a Southeast sector compared to your starting point) and come back after 7pm.
