Horoscope 2019 for the Chinese sign of the Rat
The Chinese New Year of the Pig is months away: this year both solar and lunar start of the year are aligned, as one is on the 4th of February and the other on the 5th of February 2019. We always open the horoscope with the Rat, the first of the 12 signs of the Chinese zodiac. TIn 2018 you had to accept to grow and occasionally rise to the challenge. If you did, you will be starting the year of the Pig in 2019 with a better deck in your hands. The Rat’s love life in 2019, year of the Pig.
Last year could have given the women of the sign a strong opportunity to find a suitable partner. The challenges might have come from the need to change your lifestyle or even relocate to accommodate your new relationship. Men could have found love too, if they were ready to lower their ego and willing to change. If none of this happened yet (as your sign is only accounting for your year of birth, and you have 4 Pillars so 3 more signs in your chart), there will be another chance for you in 2020, the year of your sign.
What about this year of the Pig then? It does brings the spouse Element for women of the sign, which is Earth. However it is Yin Earth, which doesn’t mix very well with your sign, the Rat, which is made of Yin Water. Yin Water + Yin Earth = mud…So while a partner can show up, there is also much mental confusion on the direction to take with your love life; at least during the first half of the year. You could be caught into things like an intense friends-with-benefit situation, a love triangle, or get someone very undecided. Men of the sign can be stuck in the same type of situation and don’t have everything in control; there are however less likely to find someone this year as their spouse Element, the Yang Fire, is not showing up. For both genders, things get better during the second half of the year when the Pig sign is more influential. You could then get more clarity on who to chose, and what to do. Relations should get lighter during that period.
For people who are already in couple, be mindful of your words during this year. Don’t take hectic decisions based on your mood and how your perceive your partner in the moment, as your feeling will likely get better as the year goes. Altogether it’s not a year entirely focused on finding love for you Rats, but it can be a good year for new friendships.
The Rat’s work and money in 2019, year of the Pig.
There are no money signs contained in this year of the Yin Earth Pig for you, native of the Rat. Therefore it is not a year that screams “big money” overall, unless the rest of your Bazi tells a different story. Does this mean that your career is not going in the right direction? Not necessarily. In fact, it’s all about going with the flow for you, and knowing which attitude to adopt .
The first important point to remember is that you have to be a “good soldier” during the first half of the year, from February to August. Don’t make any waves and be sure to be very diplomatic, and confrontational with your superiors. If you act this way, you are going to score some points. Then on the second part of the year you might get a reward in term of bonus or promotions, at least for some of you, if…you are a great team player. It is not a year when you have to play it “solo”, aggressive and ambitious. Rather, you have to be the nicest colleague ever, and genuinely want to do team work. This is how it could turn out to be a good year for your career, eventually. I must specify that it is more likely to happen for women of the sign than for the men. For both men and women, the year is actually confusing as far as your career is concerned.
Regardless of the possible achievements or recognition you might eventually get, you are unsure if you still like what you do, and wonder if you should keep going this way. It is not the right year to throw the baby out with the bathwater; it can however be a good time to talk to some astrologers (cough cough) or counsellors to assess your full potential, and see what you could do next. Again, the second half of the year is more favorable to you for this kind of introspection and work on yourself.

The Rat’s health and evolution in 2019, year of the Pig.
While this year doesn’t come with strong warning for your health, native of the Rat, there are a few things you should be mindful of. The main aspect is about your kidney and bladder. Women could be particularly prone to cystitis this year, and men to kidney stones. Both can be prevented with the right diet and herbs, and I’d advise you to be followed by a good doctor in Chinese medicine and do regular acupuncture to prevent those problems.
The other main issue is your mental confusion, that I have touched on in previous paragraph. For some of you, the first half of the year could be “muddy”. You could feel that you don’t like your work, relationship or lifestyle, and be very unsure about what to do about it. I’d say don’t do anything at this time, unless you have good direct counselling from oracles, a psychic or an astrologer. You are not likely to be the best counsellor for you at the beginning of the year, when the Yin Earth acts strongly against your sign. Things tend to clear up after the summer however. It is the right time to get things out of your chest, and you can progress with your personal development and any therapeutic work you might undertake. Relation counselling is likely to pay off at that time. All through the year, your friendships should help you and be of good support. Welcome new people in your life, as they might have important messages to deliver.
Good or bad, it’s all a question of adapting. Even during a stormy weather, any sign can have a great year. The key is to know what is coming for you, prepare and adapt.
